We are pleased to announce, Inner South Family and Friends (ISFAF), a voluntary group of family and supporters, as this year’s recipient. Their committed members have been calling for change in the mental health service system for over 30 years.
ISFAF plans to use the grant to host a weekend retreat in Bendigo. The goal is to empower participants to use their voices to advocate for human rights in AOD and mental health and wellness.
The conversations held over the weekend will be synthesised and presented in a position paper to educate and advocate for change at the political, systemic, and service levels.
The weekend is also an opportunity for connection and relaxation with trips to the Frida Kahlo Exhibition and group dinners also planned.
‘ISFAF is deeply honoured to receive the Regina Brindle Grant and, in our small way, to be given the opportunity to able to continue Regina Brindle’s significant contributions to promoting consumer voices in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) and mental health and wellbeing (MHW) sectors in Victoria. As Regina understood, carers are consumers also.’
With over 20 applications, it was a tough job to make the final selection for this year’s Regina Brindle Grant Program. A big thanks to everyone who applied. There were so many great applications!
