Warmest congratulations to SHARC’s Manal Shehab, whose tireless efforts to end family violence in faith and diverse communities have been recognised with a national award.
Manal has been named the 2025 Woman of Impact by migrant and refugee settlement agency, AMES Australia.
The annual award acknowledges women who make a significant difference in the lives of people striving to establish themselves in Australia.
The honour recognises Manal’s years of campaigning to prevent violence against women. This includes founding Sisters4Sisters, a not-for-profit agency to support victims of gender abuse and violence and creating a pioneering resource to tackle family violence in faith communities.
Manal is a counsellor with the Muslim Youth, Adult & Families (MYAF) program, working with a bilingual team supporting people challenged by alcohol and drugs, mental health and other social issues.
“I attribute this award to being part of the incredibly dedicated, creative and hard-working SHARC family,” she said.
A treasured member of the SHARC community, we are thrilled Manal’s passion, commitment and impact have been recognised with this award.
